44th Annual West Indian-American Day Carnival

As one previous attendee blogged "I was warned to Dance or go home by a very large Haitian woman in a skimpy French maid's outfit."

Capping off a weekend of festivities, come to New York City's biggest parade, where you'll join the steel drums, and partying West Indians for a parade you won't want to miss.

For the night owls/early risers, starting at the Brooklyn Museum at 2am is the wild pre-parade J'Ouvert. When you come to  New York City's biggest parade,  don't expect to just stand on the sidelines. The organizers say, "Do NOT come just to watch...you are not just encouraged to participate, you are expected to participate. As one previous attendee blogged "I was warned to Dance or go home by a very large Haitian woman in a skimpy French maid's outfit."
