A versatile artist with roots in several musical traditions, singer-songwriter and producer SonnyBoy ultimately chose R&B, moving to New York after Rolling Stone called his band one of the best unsigned acts in Minneapolis. Along the way, he’s worked with groups like Parliament-Funkadelic, whose funky influence can be felt on all of SonnyBoy’s impressive self-produced albums.
