Fresh from international premieres at the Sundance and Rotterdam film festivals, Slama (whose debut, Wild Bees, earned him the Tiger Award at the Rotterdam festival, and whose sophomore film, Something Like Happiness, traveled the world, including a stop at the New York Film Festival) returns with his fourth feature film, a small-town story that rings painfully true.
A middle-aged man is in a downward spiral, watching his teenage son repeating his own mistakes while his wife’s patience is running out., and so he seeks refuge in his friendship with a male mystic. Through crushing tragedy, Slama finds transcendent moments of grace and redemption.
