Q&A with director Joshua Atesh Litle and Les Nubians

Spanning four continents and six countries, The Furious Force of Rhymes examines the impact of rap as transnational protest music with adherents as diverse as French Arabs, East German skinhead punks, and West African feminists. Each individual shares their story of how a movement breathed out of the oppression of black Americans touched their life. This is the world festival premiere of new US version to be aired on The Smithsonian Channel. This new version features more old school Bronx archival footage and a larger presence of American artists and commentators throughout the film including Dead Prez, Davey D, Lord Jamar, D-Nice, and more.
