FORT GREENE, BROOKLYN — Firefighters battled a blaze that broke out at Brooklyn Hospital Center on Monday morning, FDNY officials said.

Crews were called to the 121 Dekalb Avenue building around 6:20 a.m. for a fire on the second floor of the hospital, an FDNY spokesman said. About 60 firefighters in 12 units battled the blaze for nearly an hour and had it under control by just after 7 a.m., the spokesman said.

There were no injuries from the fire and it appeared the 13-story hospital did not need to be evacuated as firefighters put out the fire, the spokesman said.
