Hit-And-Run Driver Strikes Cyclist In Fort Greene, Officials Say
Joseph Garcia has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident, police said.

FORT GREENE, BROOKLYN — A hit-and-run driver slammed into a cyclist early Thursday morning then sped away, officials said.
Joseph Garcia, 27, was driving his 2017 Subaru down Washington Avenue around 12:10 a.m. when he struck a person riding a bicycle near Willoughby Avenue, police said.

Garcia sped away and abandoned his vehicle on Waverly Avenue and the cyclist was rushed to Methodist Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, said police and the FDNY.
Garcia turned himself into police at the 88th precinct hours later and charged with leaving the scene of an accident, according to the NYPD.
