Man Steals $1K Stroller From Fort Greene Stoop, Police Say

Jonathan Rios, 23, stole an UPPAbaby Vista stroller worth $1,000 from a Fort Greene stoop last week, police said.

FORT GREENE, BROOKLYN — A man who stole a $1,000 baby stroller from the front stoop of a Fort Greene brownstone has been arrested, police said Monday.

Jonathan Rios, 23, stole the UPPAbaby Vista stroller that was left outside a home near the corner of Carlton and Willoughby avenues at around 12:30 p.m. Thursday, police said.

The stroller — which did not contain a baby — was carrying an infant blanket and infant warmer, all of which was estimated to be worth $1,030 in total, police said.

The 35-year-old man who owned the stroller reported the crime to police and provided them with surveillance video that showed the suspect picking up the stroller and carrying it away, police said.

Rios, of Midwood, Brooklyn, was arrested and charged with grand larceny on Monday, police said.
