Tennis Program Finds Ace Location in Fort Greene Public Housing
The Kings Country Tennis League, a Brooklyn nonprofit, opened its sixth tennis site for kids in Fort Greene public housing this Saturday.

BROOKLYN, NY — Ribbons were cut, tennis balls were hit, and smiles were flashed all around at the celebration for the Kings County Tennis League's launch of its sixth tennis programming site in Brooklyn.
The Saturday morning celebration was held at the Ingersoll Houses in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, the tennis nonprofit's first site outside of Bed-Stuy, and its first indoor facility.
KCTL looks to combine the benefits of tennis with youth and community development around public housing sites in Brooklyn, according to a press release from the nonprofit, representatives said.

"As KCTL enters its tenth year of operation, we are thrilled to celebrate the expansion of our youth tennis programming, which has increased by more than 25% over last year," said KCTL's Executive Director, David Webley.
"Ingersoll takes us another significant step forward towards our vision of giving every child in Brooklyn regular access to an activity that is healthy, stimulates their personal growth, and exposes them to new concepts, cultures, people, and possibilities."

The Ingersoll tennis club now joins KCTL's five other locations affiliated with the NYCHA developments in Brooklyn, with others located at the Marcy Houses, Tompkins Houses, Sumner Houses, Jackie Robinson House and Lafayette Garden Houses.
