Two Stabbings in This Week's Police Blotter

A knife fight went down in the Masonic Temple last week, along with plenty of other crimes. Here's a roundup.

At least two stabbings occurred in separate incidents within the confines of the 88th Precinct last week. Here’s the rundown.

  • A brawl involving nine men resulted in one of them being stabbed four times on March 18. Officer Christopher Kinney said that he came upon the scuffle at Flatbush and DeKalb avenues at around 12:40 a.m, and witnessed the victim in the near-deadly altercation with a 24-year-old, who he managed to arrest.
  • A fight at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple left a man with stab wounds and in critical condition on March 20. A security guard at the club at Clermont and Lafayette avenues told cops he saw two men brawling with the 27-year-old victim at around 2:45 a.m. One of the brutes stabbed the victim in the stomach during the melee. The victim was rushed to Kings County Hospital and Officer Michael Girardin arrested two 29-year-old suspects.

Bus Trouble

Four thieves beat up a teen and stole his iPhone and $20 while he waited for the bus on March 14.

The 14-year-old victim told cops he was waiting for the bus at N. Portland and Myrtle avenues at around 5 p.m. when the quartet approached. One of them said, “Run your pockets!” and the youngster got a fist in the face for resisting. One of the thieves then motioned as if he was carrying a weapon while another ordered, “Just give it up!” The victim complied, and the quartet fled into .

Apple Acquired

Two brutes bashed a man in the head and stole his Apple laptop and iPhone on March 18.

The victim told cops he was walking on Lafayette Avenue between Clermont Avenue and Adelphi Street at around 12:40 p.m. when the two snuck up on him from behind and stole his Apple equipment valued at $1,500 total.

Intimidation

A would-be thief made a failed attempt to scare a woman into handing over her cash on March 18.

The 23-year-old victim told cops she was waiting for a Queens-bound G train at the Classon Avenue station at around 12:50 p.m. when the suspect approached and asked her for money. When she refused he reached into his waistband, simulating a weapon. That’s when the victim made a run for it, unharmed.

Blackberry Beat Down

Two men beat up a man and stole his phone and cash on March 18.

The victim told cops he was on Emerson Place between Myrtle and Willoughby avenues at around 11:30 p.m. when the pair began punching and kicking him. They then stole his Blackberry cellphone, a debit card and cash worth a total of $300.

Choking Victim

A brute choked a man and robbed him on March 19.

The 22-year-old victim said that he was walking home near Irving Place and Gates Avenue at around 3 a.m. when the stranger ran up to him and began choking him. “Give me your f--king iPod. What else do you have?” he said while running through the victim’s pockets. The victim managed to escape his attacker’s clutches, but not before the perp stole his iPod, Android cellphone, a pair of credit cards and cash worth a total of $554.

Sketchy Subway Encounter

Two thieves stole a man’s stylish headphones endorsed by Dr. Dre on March 20.

The victim told cops he was entering the Lafayette Avenue subway station at around 8:40 p.m. when the one of the perps said, “I want those headphones.” His accomplice then threw something in the victim’s face, and the two removed the pricey piece of equipment worth $300.

Melee

A donnybrook on Hanson Place ended with three teenagers in handcuffs on March 18.

Officer Maria Amigon said that she witnessed the trio roughing up another youngster on Hanson Place at S. Portland Avenue at around 6 p.m. The group even went so far as to pick up a plastic barrier and clock the victim over the head with it, injuring his left eye.

Trouble at Applebee’s

A thief swiped a woman’s wallet that she had left at Applebee’s on March 14.

The victim told cops that she realized she had forgotten her wallet at the eatery in the Atlantic Terminal mall at around 2:30 p.m. When she returned to retrieve it 15 minutes later it was gone, along with an assortment of IDs and credit cards.

Windows Smashed

  • A thief smashed the window of a car parked on Irving Place on March 14. The owner of the auto told cops she left it between Fulton Street and Putnam Avenue at around 6:30 p.m. When she returned two hours later a passenger-side window was broken and she was missing $250, an assortment of credit cards, and a digital camera.
  • A thief smashed the window of car parked on Grand Avenue on March 17. The owner of the car told cops he had parked it the day before between Gates and Putnam avenues at around 3 p.m. When he returned the next morning, a driver-side window was broken and he was missing an Apple computer and a navigation system.

Nursing Home Heist

A thief stole a 58-year-old’s hearing aids and a quilt on March 15.

The victim’s daughter told cops she went to retrieve his hearing devices from a drawer in his room in the Atlantic Nursing Home on St. Edwards Street between Myrtle and Willoughby avenues at around 7:40 p.m. That’s when she realized they were missing, along with the blanket, which was all worth a total of $2,840.

Bump and Swipe

A thief stole a woman’s wallet from her bag while she rode a Manhattan-bound 4 train on March 16.

The victim told cops that when she got off the train at the Nevins Street station at around 11:45 a.m. she realized she was missing her wallet, which contained an assortment of credit cards and IDs. She added that the train had been crowded and that she was bumped several times.

Tool Time

A thief stole an assortment of tools and radios from a maintenance area in the Walt Whitman Houses on March 16.

Cops said the equipment was last seen in a building on Cumberland Walk between Park and Myrtle avenues at around 11 a.m. About 45 minutes later the gear, worth $1,900, was gone.

Hospital Bandit

A thief stole a woman’s wallet from her desk at the on March 17.

The victim told cops she went to the bathroom at the hospital at DeKalb Avenue and Ashland Place at around 12:45 p.m. When she returned to her desk 15 minutes later she realized she was missing her Blackberry, a credit card, an ID, and $20.

Bad Vision

A glasses bandit stole three pricey pieces of eyewear from the National Vision Center store in the Atlantic Terminal mall on March 18.

An employee at the store told cops that the thief swiped three glasses from inside a display case at around 5:35 p.m. The glasses were worth a whopping $2,800 total.

Car Vanished

A thief stole a car parked on Ashland Place and Willoughby Street on March 18.

The owner of the 1998 Infiniti told cops he had last seen it the day before at around 10:30 p.m. The next morning, it was gone.
