View Finder: Behind the Scenes at Kelso Brewery

On a quiet stretch of Waverly Avenue, Kelly Taylor and his cohorts brew up the delicious Kelso beers that are then distributed all over the city. Taylor says that he strives to make complex beers that are not so strong that you’re in outer space after one glass.

But that doesn’t mean the brewery won’t crank out a strong one every once in a while, as it did when it made the Recessionator in 2009, a powerful beer meant to chase away those recession blues. Kelso beer is on tap at several spots around the neighborhood, including , , and the . Our photographer recently dropped by the brewery to get a behind the scenes look at how those delicious beers are prepared.
