A few signs your dog may be overheating: &bull; Excessive panting &bull; Bright red or pale gums &bull; Thick drool &bull; Weakness or stumbling &bull; Vomiting or diarrhea &bull; Confusion or acting unusually tired
Help keep your pup safe: &#128062; Walk early in the morning or after the sun goes down. &#128062; Always provide fresh, cool water. &#128062; Never leave your dog in a parked car&mdash;not even for a few minutes. &#128062; Test the pavement with the back of your hand for 7 seconds. If it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for their paws. &#128062; Give them plenty of shade and time to cool down.
If your dog shows signs of heatstroke, move them to a cool area, offer small amounts of water, use cool (not ice-cold) water to lower their body temperature, and contact your veterinarian immediately.
