Representatives from the Daughters of the American Revolution presented him with a medal and certificate as part of the America 250th celebration, highlighting his ongoing efforts to recognize local veterans and community service.

Mayville, Fredonia improve to 2-0 (observertoday.com) — Fredonia’s 10-12 Little League All-Stars stayed unbeaten at 2-0 by routing Hanover 14-2, powered by big nights from Bruno Muscarella and Sebastian Cerrie. The team now prepares to host Dunkirk on Wednesday, giving local families another chance to cheer on these young players in District 38 Area A tournament action.
   

3. NCCF celebrates 40 years of impact on region (observertoday.com) — Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation marked 40 years by highlighting millions in local grants, new youth-led philanthropy efforts, and a growing asset base topping $51.5 million. Fredonia is directly tied in as JMA of Fredonia was reapproved as the foundation’s auditing firm, while an anonymous donor is now matching new community funds up to $100,000.
   

4. Dunkirk homicide victim name released (post-journal.com) — Law enforcement has released the name of the man killed in last month’s Dunkirk shooting and continues to investigate, with Fredonia Police among several agencies assisting. Officials say the June 11 incident on South Gazelle Street appears isolated, and they’re still developing evidence while asking anyone with information to contact Dunkirk Police.
