2 Men Posing As Police Officers Rob Nassau Uber Driver

FREEPORT, NY — Two men posing as police officers robbed and injured an Uber driver Sunday, and Nassau County police are seeking the public's help to find them.

According to police, a 34-year-old woman was driving for Uber at 5:15 p.m. Sunday in Freeport when she was stopped at the intersection of South Long Beach Avenue and Porterfield Place by a black, four-door sedan with a push bar on the front and flashing blue and white lights. The driver turned on a police siren and told the woman to pull over.

Two men got out of the car, and one identified himself as an undercover police officer and told the woman to get out of her car. As she was getting out of the car, the man closed the door on her hand, causing a cut.

The man claiming to be the officer took cash from the woman's pockets and then both men fled in their car north on South Long Beach Avenue.

The driver was described as a Hispanic man, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, 20 to 30 years old, 180 pounds, with a mustache and earrings in both ears. He has a snake tattoo on his neck and a dragon tattoo on his right arm. He was wearing a white T-shirt and jeans.

The other man was described as a black man, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, 20 to 30 years old, 140 pounds, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, black jeans and black sneakers.
