BALDWIN, NY — Three people, including a teen with smoke inhalation, were rescued by a group of police and firefighters from an eight-alarm fire that broke out in a Baldwin home early Saturday morning, officials told Newsday.
Firefighters were called to the two-story McKinley Street home at around 1:46 a.m., after a smoke detector woke the family up, David Maickel, of the Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office, told the outlet.
Around 120 firefighters from the Baldwin, Freeport, Oceanside, Long Beach, South Hempstead, Hempstead, Island Park, and Rockville Centre fire departments were called to the scene, according to the outlet.
