Freeport Man Charged in Fatal Car Crash: Police
The crash resulted in the death of a 22-year-old Oceanside man, police say.

MALVERNE, NY - A Freeport man was arrested in connection to a two-car fatal accident in Malverne on Sunday, according to State Police.
According to State Police, the accident occurred on the eastbound Southern State, west of Exit 17 at about 3:41 a.m. when 2004 Acura collided with a 2006 Toyota Highlander, causing the Acura to enter the south shoulder before striking several trees and a utility pole, police said.
A 22-year-old man in the Acura, Vito Errico, of Oceanside, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. No other injuries were reported.

The driver of the Acura, 36-year-old Jonathan Sobrane was charged with reckless driving, second degree reckless driving and second degree manslaughter, police said.
The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation is investigating the crash and police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact State Police Farmingdale at 631-756-3300.
