Men Tie Up, Rob Family at Gunpoint in Nassau County Home

A total of six men robbed a father and son after tying them up at their home Wednesday night, police say.

ROOSEVELT, NY - A man and his father were tied up and robbed by a group of six men at gunpoint at their home in Roosevelt on Wednesday night, according to Nassau Police.

The 22-year-old man was in the outdoor shed at his home on Beechwood Avenue when was approached by a man armed with a handgun, who demanded they go inside his house, police said.

When the man entered his home, he found additional men inside with his 51-year-old father, according to police.

The robbers ordered the two to the ground and demanded money.

They were then led to the basement where they were tied up and put in a closet, police said.

When the men were able to loosen the restraints they returned upstairs, found the home ransacked and called police. The only things reported stolen were an iPhone and a debit card.

No injuries were reported.

The six robbers are described as ranging from 22 to 26 years of age, 5-foot to 5-foot-11, wearing all black clothing, black ski masks and black gloves, police said. Three black handguns and two silver handguns were displayed.
