• Contract termination with controversial consultants among several new Freeport school district changes (liherald.com) — Freeport's school district is undergoing major changes, including reinstating Superintendent Fia Davis, reshuffling top administrative titles, and rehiring key staff such as football coach Jimmy Jones. The Board of Education also ended its contract with Perkins Consulting Group and hired an interim principal for Freeport High School, moves that will shape how local schools operate this fall. 
• Rep. Gillen Joins Rockville Centre Police for Patrol Ride-Along, Reiterates Support for Local Law Enforcement (house.gov) — Freeport residents should know their police department is among those Congresswoman Laura Gillen has recently visited as she meets with law enforcement across her district. Her latest ride-along was with Rockville Centre police, where she highlighted federal funding she's secured for public safety and her support for officer wellness and mental health initiatives.
