Pedestrian in Critical Condition After Freeport Crash
The man was hit by a car that overturned after crashing into another car.
FREEPORT, NY - A 62-year-old man is in critical condition after he was hit by a car in Freeport on Sunday night, according to Nassau Police.
While traveling westbound on Merrick Road at about 6:30 p.m., a 26-year-old man driving a 2001 Dodge Caravan tried to make a left turn onto Buffalo Avenue and was hit by a 2013 Toyota Prius traveling eastbound, driven by a 67-year-old woman, police said.
The crash caused the Dodge Caravan to overturn and hit a pedestrian on the southeast corner.

The 62-year-old man suffered severe head trauma and was transported to a local hospital where he is listed in critical condition, police said.
Both drivers were transported to a local hospital where they were treated and released. Both cars were impounded for brake and safety tests.
