Taxi Driver Robbed by Duo at Gunpoint in Roosevelt
The robbery occurred on Sunday morning.
ROOSEVELT, NY - A taxi driver was robbed by two men at gunpoint in Roosevelt on Sunday morning, according to Nassau Police.
A driver for New York Taxi in Roosevelt, was picking up a fare in front of 43 Lee Street at about 5 a.m., when he was approached by the duo armed with a handgun, police said.
The two ordered the man to exit the car before going through his pockets and stealing cash, a wallet, and a cell phone, police said.

The duo then fled on foot eastbound on Lee Street. Police officers recovered the man's cell phone and wallet in the area.
No injuries were reported.

The robbers are described as in their late teens to early twenties, both wearing dark colored hooded jackets. No further description is available.
