3 Long Island Schools Ranked 'Best Colleges For Your Money'

The colleges are included on Money Magazine's recent list of "Best Colleges For Your Money​."

Stony Brook University was named one of the top 100 Best Colleges For Your Money by Money Magazine, and two other Long Island schools made the list as well.

A total of 711 schools nationwide made the list, including 77 from New York. The list was compiled using six factors: median SAT/ACT score, estimated price without aid for the upcoming year, estimated price with a grant, percentage of enrollees who get grants, percentage of enrollees who get merit grants and the estimated amount of money graduates will make early in their career.

Three colleges from Long Island made the list: Stony Brook University came in at No. 54; Molloy College in Rockville Centre came in at 96; and Adelphi University, located in Garden City, was No. 303.

According to Money Magazine, the estimated price for the 2017-18 year at Stony Brook was $26,000 without aid, and students saw an average early career salary of $50,600.

The top college overall was Princeton University in New Jersey. The top New York college was CUNY Bernard M. Baruch College, in New York City, which came it at No. 2 overall.
