Adelphi Co-Hosts Veterans Housing Conference on June 19

Adelphi University in
partnership with Capacity Green LCC will host Creating Solutions–A Blueprint For The Future, a conference on bettering options for U.S. veterans on June 19,
2013, from 8:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Ruth S. Harley University Center, 1
South Avenue, Garden City, NY. Sharan London, vice president of ICF
International will be the keynote speaker. Since 1969, ICF has been serving
government at all levels, major corporations, and multilateral institutions.

This conference will be
broken down into four major sessions:

Session
One: Veterans Housing Programs–Changing Landscape

Session
Two: Creating Meaningful Veterans Housing on Long Island

Session
Three: Case Studies

Session
Four: Funding, Finance–Making It Happen

A variety of aspects
surrounding veteran’s housing will be tackled including completed and pending
projects in the pipeline, current housing service programs and looking towards
the future for more permanent housing options. The program is multi-faceted and
will target both older veterans and veterans recently returning to the U.S., as
well as options for military spouses. This event addresses the needs of not
only veterans but also veteran service providers, developers, builders, real
estate professionals, financiers and government personnel. “Our ultimate goal
with this conference is to impart knowledge and to exchange in a dialogue
within the community about shortages of opportunities for veterans,” says
Jasleen Anand a consultant at Capacity Green.
