Almaviva Apartments Ready to Rent

Prudential Douglas Elliman is holding an open house Saturday for those interested in renting the new apartments located at 191 Seventh Street, on the corner of Franklin Avenue and Seventh Street.

The Almaviva, as its called, offers one- and two-bedroom units with a washer/dryer in each unit, hardwood floors, granite countertops and GE stainless appliances. Most of the apartments have terraces. All units come with a parking space and personal storage space.

The open house will take place between 1-3 p.m.  All 14 apartments will be available for showing. The apartments will rent from $2,850 to $3,900 for a two-bedroom on the top floor, according to Prudential Douglas Elliman.

Patch has learned that Domus Green, the property owner, is looking for "dry retail" to occupy the ground floor though no specific merchants have been announced.

According to John Wilton, chair of Garden City's Merchant Committee, Domus Green is keeping "everything confidential." "Therefore we cannot offer any information to the public venue," he said back in December, when Patch polled its readers on what store they'd like to see open in the new building. Fifty-one percent of total votes said a steakhouse.
