The New Nassau Coliseum is Hiring

The venue is looking to hire 1,300 people to fill a variety of positions.

The Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum presented by New York Community Bank is beginning its search for candidates to fill 1,300 positions before the venue opens on April 5, 2017.

Applications must be submitted online via the form at nassaucoliseum.com. Candidates for event-related positions will be interviewed at job fairs in January and training will begin in March. First consideration for positions will be given to Uniondale residents.

“My administration has worked closely with civic organizations and Nassau Events Center to make certain every effort is taken to hire Nassau County residents and ensure those residing in Uniondale are afforded every opportunity to be considered for employment at the newly transformed Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum," Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano said in a press

The 1,300 new positions available include a large variety of job types, such as guest services, facility workers, bartenders, servers, concession stand workers, cooks and box office ticket sellers. Each employee will be trained by Disney Institute which, as part of its comprehensive and customized approach to Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum presented by NYCB, will offer unique experiential services and best practice training for the new arena staff.

AEG Facilities is assisting in the management of operations for The New Coliseum presented by NYCB, and Levy Restaurants is overseeing all food services. Both companies were hired by Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment (BSE), and together they are working with the New York State Department of Labor’s Employment and Workforce Solutions, which is providing custom recruiting and screening services. Representatives from BSE are raising awareness for these opportunities by meeting with local community groups, elected officials and non-profits.

The hiring efforts are a partnership between Nassau County, AEG Facilities, Levy Restaurants and New York state.
