Hannon To Host Small Business Seminar

Resources are available that could help keep businesses thriving during uncertain economic times.

State Sen. Kemp Hannon is hosting a seminar Thursday, May 20, at Levittown Hall from 7–9 p.m. to share with small business owners vital information that could help keep their businesses thriving during these uncertain economic times.

Five experts will focus on the resources currently available, including the availability of business financing in today's climate, such as government guaranteed loans, lines of credit, receivable financing and hard money. Preparing a grant proposal, steps in preparing a loan request, marketing strategies, cause marketing campaigns and more will also be discussed.

Deputy district director Alfred Titone of the Small Business Administration; Barry Greenspan of NYS Empire State Development; James Goldrick, vice president of the NY Business Development Corp.; Frank Mitchell Corso, Jr. of Frank Mitchell Corso, Jr. and Associates' and John Steinhoff, senior business advisor from the Small Business Development Center at Farmingdale State University all plan to speak.

"There's no question... small business owners are carrying an unfair tax burden. While I continue to fight to lessen that burden, I want to take the opportunity to provide small business owners with useful and valuable resources to keep their businesses thriving during this tough economic climate," Sen. Hannon said.
