Centennial Celebration of the 42nd Rainbow Division

A beautiful ceremony marked the 100th anniversary of the 42nd Infantry Division's establishment and deployment from Camp Mills, located in the southeast area of Garden City during World War One.

Hundreds gathered at the newly restored Rainbow Division Memorial Monument on St. James Street South Saturday, August 12, 2017 to commemorate the occasion. A cake cutting ceremony immediately followed at the Senior Center on Golf Club Lane. All photos by Carisa Giardino
