Physical Therapy Options is pleased to announce that Garden City High School senior, Christina Bennett has won Physical Therapy Options 2019 Scholarship. Christina impressed the Scholarship team with her work ethic, positivity and faith. Throughout her high school career, she has juggle multiple part time jobs at local establishments such as BK Sweeney’s and Leo’s – all while maintaining excellent grades. This summer she will also be working at PTO. Christina is interested in a career in medicine and the PTO staff is excited to have her on board. Christina’s decision to pursue a career in medicine has been personal. Christina’s father passed away from cancer when she was young and her mother is a breast cancer survivor. These experiences have catapulted Christina to always go above and beyond and has given her a powerful sense of resiliency. “She possesses strength and positivity beyond her years,” said Lisa Coors. “Christina is a special girl. I believe that her life experiences both positive and negative will give her the tools needed for a pre-med track.”

Christina is also very involved with a host of extracurricular activities. She is the Co-principal Violin II at Garden City High School along with a member of the Key and Miracle Clubs. Christina is a Taekwondo champion, holds a black belt and is a junior instructor. She is also a Cancer Center for Kids volunteer. Christina will be attending Stony Brook University, Lisa Coor’s alma mater, in the fall. The entire PTO team wishes Christina the best and can’t wait to see all of her future accomplishments.
