Coronavirus On Long Island: 3 More Test Positive
It brings the total number of people infected on Long Island to four. The new cases are believed to be linked to the first on the Island.
NASSAU COUNTY, NY — At a press conference Friday evening, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced 11 more people tested positive for the novel coronavirus in New York, including three more in Nassau County — doubling the amount of new cases announced today in the state.
At a news conference this morning, Cuomo announced that 11 people had been confirmed to have the coronavirus. At the time, he said more would be confirmed as testing went on. Now, the total number of New Yorkers with the virus is 44.
The three new cases in Nassau County bring the total on Long Island to four. Cuomo said health officials believe the new cases were linked to the first Nassau County case — a 42-year-old man from Uniondale who was hospitalized for treatment — but are still investigating.

The first man to contract the disease in Nassau County had underlying health conditions and is being treated at NYU Winthrop Hospital in Mineola. The new cases are all women, ages 63, 41 and 36, Cuomo said. He did not say where the three people are located.
