County Announces Alternate Route to Health And Human Services Building

Monday's debate will make travel to the building, which houses many county agencies, very difficult.

The county has announced alternate routes that residents can take on Monday, Sept. 26 to access the Health and Human Services Building despite road closures due to the Presidential Debate at Hofstra University.

The Health and Human Services Building, located at 60 Charles Lindbergh Boulevard in Uniondale, will be open during normal business hours on Monday. It houses the county’s Department of Social Services, Office of the Physically Challenged, Youth Board, Office of the Aging, Health Department (Early Intervention) and the Department of Mental Health, Chemical Dependency and Developmental Disabilities.

For residents traveling to the facility by car before noon, those coming from the Meadowbrook Parkway or Merrick Avenue can take Hempstead Turnpike west to Oak Street, then take Oak Street to Westbury Boulevard, then turn right on Westbury Blvd into 60 Charles Lindbergh Boulevard. Charles Lindbergh Boulevard and Earl Ovington Boulevard will be closed from 5 a.m. until midnight.
