Donate Used Dresses To Girls In Need

You can help make someone's prom or other special occasion even more special.

Nassau Community College is once again partnering with the Long Island Volunteer Center to host the annual "Prom Boutique," a program that enables individuals and businesses to donate new or gently used prom and bridesmaid dresses for distribution to deserving young women. All dresses and accessories will be distributed free of charge to girls across Long Island who cannot easily absorb the expense of a new gown for their prom, awards ceremony or graduation.

High school guidance counselors, at-risk youth agencies, group homes and church outreaches make the program available to their constituents. Nearly 1,500 young women from different schools and organizations across Long Island and the outer boroughs benefit from this program each year.

Drop-off sites are available across Long island to collect donations of new and gently used dressy dresses, prom gowns, bridesmaid gowns, special occasion shoes, handbags, costume jewelry and accessories. Except for Nassau Community College, the drop-off date is on Sunday, April 23. Most times are from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., but please note alternate times as listed:
