Driver Arrested With Six License Suspensions: Garden City Police

A truck traveling north struck the Cherry Valley train trestle on Sept. 4. The truck was damaged. The driver, a 46-year-old man from the Bronx, was charged with disobeying bridge clearance signs as well as numerous equipment violations.

A vehicle was stopped by an officer on Sept. 7 for traveling 50 MPH in a 30 MPH zone on Rockaway Avenue and South Gate. Upon investigation, the driver, a 24-year-old man from Brentwood, was arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation due to six active license suspensions, excessive speed, uninspected vehicle and uninsured operation.
A Garden City Plaza business reported two fraudulent checks totaling $1,000 were cashed against the company’s bank account on Sept. 7.
A 22-year-old man, a 22-year-old woman and a 20-year-old woman, all from West Hempstead, as well as a 20-year-old woman from East Meadow and a 19-year-old woman from Queens were charged with trespassing in Community Park after closing hours on Sept. 8.
Officers responded to Meadow Street for a report of a vehicle striking a tree on Sept. 9. Upon investigation, the driver, who was not injured, was arrested for DWI, unlicensed operation and uninsured operation. He was also charged with unauthorized use of an auto after it was determined that the vehicle was stolen earlier in the day from Washington Court in Hempstead.
A vehicle was stopped by an officer on Old Country Road for aggressive driving violations on Sept. 10. Upon investigation, the driver, a 46-year-old man from Mineola, was arrested for DWI, excessive speed and unsafe turn.
Money was reported stolen from a vehicle parked at a Locust Street residence on Sept. 10.
As a result of a license plate reader notification and verification on Washington Avenue on Sept. 10, Officers arrested a 19-year-old man from Hempstead for driving with a suspended registration, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation (revoked license, DWI related) and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation (four additional license suspensions).
