East Garden City Nordstrom Rack Robbed At Knifepoint: Police

GARDEN CITY, NY —Nassau County Police are searching for a man who they say robbed a local Nordstrom Rack store at knifepoint Monday and then escaped with an unknown number of bottles of perfume, police said.

The man entered the store and began placing bottles of perfume into his bag at the Nordstrom Rack at 1040 Old Country Rd. in East Garden City shortly after 5:30 p.m., police said. When the man was approached by security guards, he pulled out a knife and left the store with the merchandise and then left and went west toward East Gate Boulevard, police said. No injuries were reported in the robbery.

The man is described as being 6-foot-2, medium build, between 30 and 40 years old and was wearing a black jackets and pants, a baseball cap and white sneakers. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to called Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. Callers may remain anonymous.
