Frank Ohman's New York Dance Theatre and the Ohman School of Ballet will present this unique program of ballet and balletic dance featuring all original choreography to a broad range of musical genres: classical, contemporary, jazz, Broadway and world music will all be represented. Guest artists include DaVon Doane of the Dance Theatre of Harlem, Nicole Loizides of MOMIX, internationally acclaimed pianist Pablo Lavandera, artist-in-residence at Stony Brook University. The title of this program reflects the idea that this classic and timeless art form is not just about story ballets and classical music exclusively, but that it can be expressed in different modes and in abstract ballets. The music of Bach, Ravel, Liszt, Marvin Hamlisch, Richard Rodgers, Marcus Welby, Philip Glass and others (including original music by Long Island musicians) will round out this program of dance for an audience of all ages. Come experience ballet as you never have before!
