Renoir is known as the Pope of Painting or Painter of Happiness, who looked at the world optimistically. He is well known by his name but many people are unaware of the painful and debilitating rheumatoid arthritis that he had. This progressive disease did not change his positive view of life. Renoir only wanted to paint the happy, calm and loving times in our world. Music, dance and children at play, besides the beauty of people and nature were some of his themes – always expressing how lovely and wonderfully beautiful our world should be viewed.

Emilia Rabito Baer earned her B.A. in teaching from the State University at New Paltz and a M.A. in speech from Queens College. She has taught for over 20 years and has spent a very active life creating her own art work. She has won over 100 art awards in different media while being a member of numerous national and local art organizations.
