Garden City Hotel Tree Lighting

The Garden City Hotel will hold its 27th annual tree lighting ceremony.

The special event shares the cheer of the season with festive caroling, a winter wonderland with a visit from Santa Claus, model trains in motion around the Christmas tree, illumination of the hotel's cupola in festive shades of green and red, and, the ceremonial lighting of a spectacular 30-foot blue spruce tree at the hotel's grand entrance.

Katherine Heaviside, president of Epoch 5 Public Relations, will flip the switch on the holiday season. This year's ceremony will recognize Life's WORC based in Garden City. Their mission is to provide services that facilitate an independent and productive life experience for individuals with developmental disabilities including mental retardation and autism.

Performances of holiday carols, by the Garden City High School Vocal Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Robert Ludwig, will close the ceremony.
