Friends of the Garden City Public Library will present a FREE lecture “Antiques Primer 101” with Certified Appraiser Edward J. Costello on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at 2:00pm at the Garden City Public Library located at 60 Seventh St., Garden City, NY. Gain the basics of how to identify antiques and collectibles in a program that will be informative and entertaining. An introduction to understanding fine art will be included. Learn fundamental knowledge about popular categories: furniture, porcelain, silver, jewelry and toys. The first forty patrons will be given ONE appraisal for ONE item with a numbered ticket given on a first-come, first-served basis.
Eddie Costello has been presenting antiques programs since 1993 as noted on Channel 12 News and PBS Channel 13. He is a Certified Appraiser with the American Appraisers Association and an antiques and collectibles expert with over 40 years experience. His wife Jean assists during lecture presentations.
