Library Friends Sponsor Concert "The Rock & Roll, Doo-Wop & Pop Show"

Friends of the Garden City Public Library will present a FREE concert “The Rock & Roll, Doo-Wop & Pop Show” with The Vic Vincent Group on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 2:00pm at the Garden City Public Library located at 60 Seventh St., Garden City, NY. This public program is funded by The Friends of the Garden City Public Library. Seating and parking is limited and on a first-come basis. No tickets are required to attend. Vic Vincent and members of the band have been performing in the NY Metropolitan area since the Rock & Roll, Doo-Wop & Pop hits they perform were on the charts. Within the last several years they put together a show that brings us back to the wonderful 50’s & 60’s musical years with a tribute performance to great R&R, Doo-Wop & Pop artists. Listen to the harmonic Doo-Wop groups: The Del Vikings, Little Anthony & The Imperials, The Platters and The Tokens. Enjoy Solid Rock & Roll artists: Bill Haley & Comets, Elvis, Dion and the Belmont’s and Buddy Holley. Hear Pop tunes by such artists as: Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Louie Prima … and cross-over tunes that went from country to pop… with artists like Hank Williams and Johnny Cash.

Musicians of The Vic Vincent Group are: Jimmy the K on tenor sax, trumpet, guitar, keyboard & vocals; Bill C the former WMCA Good Guys drummer on percussion, drums & background vocals; and Vic Vincent singing vocals & playing guitar & keyboard.# # #
