Friends of the Garden City Public Library will present a free show “Now & Then” with the talented Singin’ Swingin’ Seniors at 2:00pm on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Garden City Public Library located at 60 Seventh St., Garden City, NY. Enjoy an original show, featuring traditional music with new lyrics to make you smile! This nostalgic musical revue contains 21 songs from the past, such as: “You’re a Grand Old Flag”, “When Irish Eyes are Smiling”, “Give My Regards to Broadway”, and “Oh, You Beautiful Doll”. The new lyrics bring tunes from the past up to the present, through topics such as “Grandkids”, “Computers”, “Cell Phones”, and “Medication”. The program is approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes in length.
Now & Then is reminiscent of old time vaudeville shows. The piano player, Norman Ward will take part in some of the vignettes while the singers and dancers will help to tell some of the jokes. The cast will star Jacqui Chaskell, Cooky Klein, Lenny Klein, and Helene Tiger.
