The Lion Dance is a cultural Chinese dance often performed during festivals and parades for Lunar New Year celebrations. It usually requires two performers wearing a shaggy and furry costume to imitate a lion. Different regions of China have their own traditional styles of making the Lion Dance masks. Start off the Year of the Rabbit by making a mask out of fun materials, listen to traditional Lion Dance music, and join us as we march through the Museum!
