It’s Halloween time at the Long Island Children’s Museum and we’re gearing up for the 10th annual Ghostly Gala!
Visit the Museum in your most creative and dazzling costume (adults too) and celebrate Halloween in a fun, safe and spooky (but not scary) way! Don’t worry about a goody bag; we’ll help you decorate your own treat bag to go trick-or-treating in the Museum’s galleries. The mood will be set as you listen to creepy music throughout the Museum. Get your face painted, make some spooky craft projects like “Crazy Cats,” “Beads and Bats” necklaces or create a “Glowing Ghoul Stick” to keep you safe on Halloween. Visitors will also meet “Stellaluna,” the beloved character from Janell Cannon's childhood classic. If you’re brave enough, touch and feel your way through our “Witches Brew-Ha-Ha.” Don’t forget to stop in to decorate your own “Wacky Witches Hat” … and then eat it!
LICM will be going batty when Rob Mies from the Organization for Bat Conservation introduces visitors to bats from around the world. Theater tickets are required for the bat show and are priced at $4 ($3 for LICM members). Live Theater Performances are scheduled for 6:15, 7, 7:45 and 8:30 p.m.
