Mid–Autumn Children’s Festival

Join us as we celebrate the Vietnamese tradition of Têt-Trung-Thu, a mid-autumn children’s festival in honor of our visiting exhibit Dragons and Fairies. Learn about some of the traditions celebrated in Viet Nam during this harvest time.

  • Make a drum to use during our dragon parade
  • Create your own Vietnamese lantern
  • Design a dragon puppet
  • Get your face painted
  • Sample yummy Vietnamese foods

During the weekend, visitors can also view a mixed-media art exhibition on display in the Museum’s KaleidoZone and Community Art galleries.  The exhibit, My Country, My Village, My Story: Artwork by the Children from The Thang Long School in Viet Nam, will be on display through January 8.

The Festival is funded by a grant from the New York Council for the Humanities and with the support of the New York Vietnamese School and the Saigon Children’s Charity (USA).
