Nassau Community College presents the work of artist Nadege Monchera-Baer in an exhibition entitled “Corporal Edges,” which will be on display from January 23 to March 1 at the Firehouse Plaza Art Gallery.
The drawings and paintings reflect the artist’s experience working in the creative industries in Paris, Rome, New York and Berlin, according a press release from NCC. Born in France, Monchera-Baer lives and works in Los Angeles.
“My current work follows two independent but intertwining threads — one, large abstracts, and the other figurative,” said Monchera-Baer in the press release. “The figurative art ranges from changed portraits to more conceptually tinged psychological studies hinting at internal or conflictive socio-sexual issues such as innocence and deference.”
