An award winning commissioned portrait artist, Arleen is well known as an art instructor in Garden City. Every year students from all her workshops are eligible to compete and exhibit at the Garden City Library for the month of January. This year’s show “Rembrats 2013” promises to be a huge success. Students are encouraged to develop at their own pace. From the seasoned painter to the total beginner, Arleen has now included the simplicity of pencil and charcoal for first timers, in addition to her Pastel Painting. Many techniques and simple concepts will be included for those wishing to learn basic drawing. Students will be taught how to create a drawing or painting from their favorite photograph or how to sketch a still life from life. Her workshops will be held at Cluett Hall on Friday mornings beginning September 14 for ten weeks, and at the Garden City Casino on Thursday mornings beginning October 4 for six weeks. For information on these upcoming classes and additional private lessons, contact Arleen at 516 352 6798.
It is Arleen’s philosophy that you are never too old to learn and that art is actually the only thing in life that improves with age.
