LICM Saltwater Stories: The Bayhouse - Origins, History and Architecture

Bay houses are small shacks that stand on the south shore of Long Island. They were originally built in the 1700s and 1800s by fishermen, baymen and duck hunters for shelter while they harvested clams and salt hay, or went duck hunting. Come learn more about these unique homes from actual bay house owners along with Nancy Solomon, author of On the Bay, and then create your own.
