
Garden City adults are invited to a FREE program The Legend of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” with author and master storyteller Jonathan Kruk on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 2:00pm at the Garden City Public Library located at 60 Seventh St., Garden City, NY. Attendees will hear the secret sources, back stories plus other spirits surrounding the famed galloping headless horseman of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving. Meet the host of ghost from the "tragical" hanged Major, John Andre to the "wailing" White Lady of Raven Rock and other haunting denizens of Sleepy Hollow.
Jonathan Kruk, is renowned for his dramatic retellings of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” selling out 40 shows every October at the Old Dutch Church, in Sleepy Hollow, NY. His book, “The Legends & Lore of Sleepy Hollow and the Hudson Valley” entered it's 2nd printing in less than a year and features a map of Ichabod Crane's race with the headless horseman. Mr. Kruk, a full-time career storyteller since 1989, performs at schools (including those in Garden City), parks, museums and historic sites. He has been featured at the Nassau County Museum, Sagamore Hill, and the New York Historical Society.
