As a result of winter storm conditions on Feb. 7, officers responded to numerous hazardous icy road conditions and auto accidents at various locations throughout the village.

A traffic stop investigation on Old Country Road on Feb. 8 resulted in the arrest of a 25-year-old man from Westbury for driving with five license suspensions, a Nassau County Traffic warrant, improper plates, unregistered vehicle and uninsured operation.

Officers investigated a burglary at a Roxbury Road residence on Feb. 8. Entry was apparently through a cellar entrance. Money, jewelry and other personal items were reported stolen.

On Feb. 10, officers arrested a 16-year-old boy from Hempstead on Seventh Street for reckless driving.

A wallet was reported lost or stolen in the vicinity of Seventh Street on Feb. 10.

Officers arrested a 18-year-old man from Garden City in Parking Field 2S for smoking THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) in public view on Feb. 11. He was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Officers responded to Parking Field 11 to investigate a report of a silver SUV leaving the scene after striking and damaging a parked, unoccupied vehicle on Feb. 11.

On Feb. 12, an employee at a Kellum Place office building opened an envelope received by mail and observed a white powdery substance inside. Officers responded and safeguarded the area. Nassau County Emergency Services Units arrived at the scene, investigated the substance and determined it to be non-hazardous. Several employees were placed under observation by Nassau County Medics until the scene was cleared. The investigation is ongoing.

At approximately 6:10 p.m. on Feb. 12, a car driven by a 47-year-old woman was traveling north on Clinch Avenue and made a right turn onto Wilson Street where it struck a 50-year-old from Garden City who was walking home from the train station. The man was transported to Winthrop Hospital with severe head injuries. Upon investigation, the driver was placed under arrest and charged with aggravated DWI, assault and unregistered auto. The man was listed as critical but stable in surgical ICU.

Officers investigated a vehicle entry report on Keenan Place on Feb. 12. There is no reported loss at this time. The subject is described as a person wearing light colored pants and a dark jacket over a light colored hoodie.

A wallet was reported lost or stolen on the Adelphi University campus on Feb. 12.

Officers assisted the Garden City Fire Department, which responded to Raymond Court for a transformer fire, on Feb. 13.

Officers arrested a 44-year-old woman from Freeport for the theft of merchandise valued at $1,070 from Lord & Taylor on Feb. 13. She was charged with grand larceny.

Two packages were reported stolen from the porch of a Pine Street residence on Feb. 13.

Officers investigated a report of a man stealing a camera and accessories from a counter at Neptune Photo and then proceeded to leave the store without paying on Feb. 13. The value of the stolen property is $2,700.
