The Garden City Crime Report

After an investigation, Garden City detectives arrested a 16-year-old man from Garden City on april 4 for sexual offenses against two female victims. He was charged with two counts of forcible touching.

As a result of strong winds, a tree limb fell on a vehicle traveling on Clinton Road on April 4. There were no injuries reported. Another tree limb fell onto power lines on Lefferts Road. Police officers and firefighters responded to safeguard the areas.

Officers responded to the Franklin Court area for a report of a suspicious person on April 5. Upon investigation, a 53-year-old man from Bellmore was arrested for the theft of items from a vehicle parked in a Franklin Court driveway. He was charged with petty larceny.

Officers investigated a report of a man entering CVS and stealing multiple baby food items and medicines from the shelves on April 5.

Officers responded to a traffic light malfunction at the intersection of Old Country Road and Clinton Road on April 5.

A vehicle was stopped by an officer for multiple aggressive driver violations on Golf Club Lane on April 6. Upon investigation, the driver, a 31-year-old woman from Elmont, was arrested for DWI, excessive speed, improper turn and unsafe lane usage.

A taxi driver said he drove a man from New York City to Seventh Street, Garden City, on April 7, and he refused to pay his $106 fare, exited the cab and fled the scene on foot.

A vehicle was stopped by an officer for excessive speed on Washington Avenue and Meadow Street on April 7. Upon investigation, the driver, a 36-year-old woman from Hempstead, was charged with driving with four license suspensions and excessive speed.

Officers conducted a traffic investigation on Clinton Road at Chestnut Street on April 8, resulting in the arrest of a 30-year-old man from West Hempstead for criminal possession of a controlled substance (crack/cocaine), possession of marijuana and an outstanding Nassau County Criminal Court warrant for possession of marijuana.

A roof strap securing a kayak on top of a vehicle parked in Parking Field 7S was found damaged on April 8.

A joint investigation on County Seat Drive by the Garden City Police Department and the Nassau County Probation Department on April 9 resulted in the arrest of a 62-year-old man from Glen Head for driving with a suspended license due to a prior DWI offense and driving without a court ordered interlock device.

Money was removed from a vehicle parked at a Pell Terrace residence on April 10.

A vehicle left the scene after striking and damaging an unoccupied vehicle parked in Adelphi University Parking Field 5 on April 10.
