Officers arrested a 51-year-old woman from Hempstead at Lord and Taylor on June 9 for the theft of merchandise valued at $368.
At 4:40 a.m. on June 10, officers responded to an accident on Old Country Road and Russell Road where a vehicle struck and damaged two PSEG poles, causing a power outage and road closures in the area. Upon investigation, the driver, a 27-year-old woman from Port Washington, was transported to a local hospital for injuries related to the accident. In addition, she was arrested for DWI.

Officers arrested a 70-year-old woman from Rockville Centre at Lord and Taylor on June 10 for the theft of merchandise valued at $1,600. She was charged with grand larceny.
As a result of a domestic incident investigation on June 11, officers arrested a 21-year-old man from Garden City for choking another family member and taking her cell phone away from her. The man also punched the family member in the face, causing pain and swelling. He was charged with assault, criminal obstruction of breathing and criminal mischief. He was also charged with menacing after threatening to severely injure two police officers.
