Officers investigated a report of a damaged rear storm door window to an Amherst Street residence on June 6. The damage was apparently cause by a golf ball.

Walgreens security reported a man entered the store and removed multiple razor blades from shelves and then proceeded to leave the store without paying on June 7.

Upon investigation, detectives arrested a 54-year-old man from Hempstead on June 8 for a burglary of a Franklin Avenue business office which occurred on May 28.

Sunglasses were reported stolen from a vehicle parked at a Poplar Street residence on June 8.

The driver’s side door to a vehicle parked at a Stewart Avenue business was found damaged by unknown means on June 8.

Officers were assigned for traffic and security details at the Belmont Fair on 7th Street on June 8. No unusual incidents were reported.

Officers arrested a 51-year-old woman from Hempstead at Lord and Taylor on June 9 for the theft of merchandise valued at $368.

At 4:40 a.m. on June 10, officers responded to an accident on Old Country Road and Russell Road where a vehicle struck and damaged two PSEG poles, causing a power outage and road closures in the area. Upon investigation, the driver, a 27-year-old woman from Port Washington, was transported to a local hospital for injuries related to the accident. In addition, she was arrested for DWI.

A vehicle was reported stolen from a Chestnut Street driveway on June 10.

Officers arrested a 70-year-old woman from Rockville Centre at Lord and Taylor on June 10 for the theft of merchandise valued at $1,600. She was charged with grand larceny.

As a result of a domestic incident investigation on June 11, officers arrested a 21-year-old man from Garden City for choking another family member and taking her cell phone away from her. The man also punched the family member in the face, causing pain and swelling. He was charged with assault, criminal obstruction of breathing and criminal mischief. He was also charged with menacing after threatening to severely injure two police officers.
