Officers responded to Sears and arrested an employee for keeping $100 from a sales transaction instead of placing it in the cash register on June 20. The employee, a 47-year-old woman from West Hempstead, was charged with petty larceny.

Officers responded to Nassau Boulevard and Merillon Avenue on two occasions for traffic light malfunctions on June 20.

Officers arrested a 52-year-old woman from Hempstead on June 21 for leaving the scene of a personal injury auto accident at the intersection of Clinton Road at Wyatt Road.

A Kellum Place business reported a check mailed to the company was stolen, altered and cashed for a loss of $983 on June 21.

Officers investigated reports of vehicles being entered at a Stewart Avenue home, an Osborne Road home and a Kingsbury Road home, all on June 21. Nothing was taken.

On June 22, Garden City detectives arrested a 22-year-old man from Hempstead for the theft of credit cards from a vehicle on Linden Street on March 30 and the subsequent use of the cards to make purchases. The man acted in consort with another person who was previously arrested by Garden City police on June 13.

A vehicle was reportedly entered on Oxford Boulevard on June 22. Nothing was taken.

A Garden City officer assisted Hempstead officers on Barnes Lane in the apprehension and arrest of a 39-year-old man from Roosevelt on June 22, who had just committed two porch larcenies in Hempstead.

Officers investigated an identity theft report on June 23 where an unknown woman attempted to remove money from a resident’s bank account without authorization by displaying identification with the resident’s name and information on it.

On June 24, a resident reported she sent $8,000 to an alleged investment firm and later determined it was a scam.

An employee’s wallet was reported stolen from inside a Franklin Avenue store on June 25.

Officers responded to Meadow Street and Magnolia Avenue for a report of an accident between a car and a motorcycle on June 25. The operator of the motorcycle fled the scene on foot. The motorcycle was impounded.

On June 25, an officer on patrol on Stewart Avenue observed two vehicles in a road rage incident, chasing each other, committing numerous traffic violations and placing other vehicles and pedestrians in the area at serious risk. In addition, the driver of one the vehicles was videotaping the other vehicle with his cell phone. The officer stopped both vehicles; one driver, a 49-year-old man from Elmont, was charged with reckless driving, and the other driver, a 58-year-old man from Long Beach, was charged with reckless driving and using a portable hand held device.

Officers, firefighters and the water department responded to a flooding condition in the basement of a commercial building in the vicinity of Franklin Avenue and Thirteenth Street on June 25.

A bicycle was reported stolen from a Chestnut Street garage on June 26.

Property was reported stolen from a vehicle parked at Stewart Field on June 26.
