A vehicle reported stolen from Meadow Street was involved in two leaving the scene accidents in Rockville Centre and Oceanside on July 3. Three people, a 16-year-old boy from Queens, a 16-year-old boy from Hempstead and a 15-year-old from Hempstead were arrested for grand larceny.

Officers responded to Edgemere Road where a large tree fell onto the roadway on July 4. Department of Public Works personnel responded to remove the tree.

An officer stopped a box truck on Clinton Road for an imitation New Jersey temporary license plate on July 4. Upon investigation, the driver, a 27-year-old man from the Bronx, was charged with unlicensed operation, unregistered vehicle, improper license plates, uninsured operation and multiple commercial vehicle equipment violations. The truck was impounded.

A truck was stopped by an officer on Clinton Road for an unsecured machine on its trailer on July 4. Upon further investigation, the driver, a 51-year-old manfrom Freeport, was charged with improper trailer license plates, unregistered trailer, unsecured load and a leaking gas container. The trailer was impounded.

A vehicle was stopped by an officer for erratic lane changes on Clinton Road on July 5. Upon investigation, the driver, a 27-year-old from Hempstead, was arrested for DWI, unlicensed operation and unsafe lane usage.

A man was seen puncturing a tire of a car in Parking Field 9E before fleeing the scene in a blue van on July 5.

Officers arrested a 32-year-old woman from Franklin Square for leaving the scene of an accident that occurred on Rockaway Avenue and First Street on July 5. She was also charged with unlicensed operation.

On July 6, a vehicle parked at a Jefferson Street residence was entered and a vehicle parked at a Warton Place residence was entered; there is no reported loss from either vehicle.

Sears Prevention officers said a man entered the store, stole four pairs of shoes totaling $620 in value, and fled the store on foot on July 7. Officers located the man on Clinton Road in Hempstead, where he resisted arrest and injured the hand of one of the officers. The man, 44, from Hempstead, was charged with assault of an officer, larceny and resisting arrest. He was also charged with burglary due to the fact he entered Sears after signing an agreement not to do so when he was previously arrested at the store for the same offense on June 27.

On July 8, officers assisted the Garden City Fire Department at a Roosevelt Street residence where an outdoor grill propane fire injured the homeowner, a 63-year-old man, and damaged the outside walls of the home. The man was transported to Nassau University Medical Center for facial burns and the fire was extinguished by the firefighters.

On July 9, a cooler was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in a Fifth Street driveway. Loose change was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in a Fifth Street driveway. Three other vehicles in the area were entered with no loss reported at this time.

On July 10, gift cards were reported stolen from a vehicle parked at a Whitehall Boulevard South residence. Three other vehicles in the area were entered with no reported loss at this time.
