Garden City Hotel Employee Stole From Guest's Room: Police

Loose change and other items were reported stolen from a car parked at a Magnolia Street home on Dec. 19.

A package delivered to a Roxbury Road home was reported stolen on Dec. 19.

An employee of the Garden City Hotel was arrested for the theft of a computer valued at $1,100 from a room on Dec. 20. The subject, a 53-year-old man from Williston Park, was charged with grand larceny.

The contents of a package delivered to a 5th Street home were reported stolen on Dec. 20.

Officers arrested a 36-year-old man from Mineola on South Avenue on Dec. 21 for DWI, driving on the wrong side of the road and driving without the vehicle’s headlights activated.

Shoes were reported stolen from a vehicle parked at a Chestnut Street home on Dec. 21.

Officers responded to weather related traffic light outages on Stewart Avenue at Nassau Boulevard and Stewart Avenue at New Hyde Park Road on Dec. 21.

A truck traveling south on Nassau Boulevard struck the train trestle on Dec. 22. The driver, a 33-year-old man from Massachusetts, was charged with disregarding bridge clearance signs. No injuries were reported.

A phone was reported stolen at a Stewart Avenue home on Dec. 23. The victim attended a party at the residence.

A resident reported on Dec. 23 that someone used her personal information to open three unauthorized credit card accounts.

Officers assisted firefighters who responded to the Wyndham Condominiums for a smoke condition caused by a small oven fire on Dec. 23.

A Stewart Avenue resident reported someone stole an iPad from her unlocked car on Dec. 23.

Officers assisted rirefighters who responded to a kitchen fire at a Jefferson Street home on Dec. 24.

A 4th Street resident reports a wallet was stolen from her unlocked car on Dec. 24.

Officers arrested a 45-year-old woman from Garden City for harassment on Dec. 25.
